WASPI CAN’T WAIT -COMPENSATE! Demo Arrangements

    Location: Static protest in Parliament Square Garden

    Head for the Winston Churchill Statue in Parliament Square and you will find WASPI protesters,and stewards wearing Hi Viz Tabards.

    What are we protesting about?

    • To reaffirm our calls for fair and fast compensation to the new Labour government

    • More than six months on from the PHSO’s report, ministers have still not committed to delivering fair and fast compensation for 1950s-born women impacted by State Pension age changes.

    • The demo takes place during the new Government’s first Budget – one of the most important days in the UK political calendar as WASPI women from across their country renew their calls for justice.

    Transport, teas and toilets

    The nearest tube station is Westminster (Jubilee, District and Circle lines) and is a 2-minute walk from Parliament Square. Victoria and Waterloo stations are a 15-to-20-minute walk away.

    For refreshments, the Cellarium Café in Westminster Abbey is open until 16:00 or there is a small Tesco and Café Nero next to Westminster tube station if you want ‘grab and go.’  Elsewhere, there are lots of pubs and cafes located towards Victoria station and towards Trafalgar Square.

    Pubs immediately next to Parliament Square can get busy and have limited seating.Before entering any pubs, attendees should pack away any sashes and campaign materials as you might be asked to put these away.

    The nearest toilets are available at Westminster Pier.

    or in Westminster Cathedral, towards Victoria). WASPI will also have a RADAR key which is used to access disability facilities. This will need to be returned promptly so it can be used by others. Ask a Steward if you need this.
