The Daily Express – 12 November 2025

Steph Spyro from the Express reporting on yesterdays announcement by the government regarding re-considering the decision not to compensate WASPI women. The article goes further into issue of the evidence that has been discovered.

Angela Madden, chair of the WASPI campaign points out that the Government stated that there were two facts – that WASPI women knew about the changes and that that even if letters had been sent they wouldn’t have been read. She goes on to say ““This was, of course, complete rubbish and a gaslighting denial of WASPI women’s lived experience.

“The Government seems to accept that it got at least one of those crucial so called ‘facts’ completely wrong because officials did not show her a DWP-commissioned report that completely contradicted it.”

Angela then asks why the evidence was not shown in the first place? Why was the evidence not brought forward when WASPI first started legal proceedings and why the reconsideration had not already happened?
