A report of a very stormy council meeting in South Tyneside on 24th July. A WASPI motion had been put forward by the South Tyneside Alliance group. The group had developed the motion in conjunction with WASPI campaigners in the area.

The majority Labour party put forward an amendment which still supported the WASPI campaigners but the opposition and WASPI campaigners believed diluted the impact of the maladministration. The amendment was agreed by a majority of 3.
