Fury as Labour deny WASPI women pension payouts as minister yawns

The Daily Mail takes a slightly difference view of todays announcement and points out that Torsten Bell MP was yawning and appeared to have difficulty staying awake – disappointing behaviour given how important the issue is to millions of women.
The article also considers the grounds of the decision. The minister makes much of the six sample cases not providing evidence of direct financial loss as part of the reasons for the decision. The report from the Ombudsman makes that clear and the suggested compensation figure is arrived at using other factors such as loss of opportunity to make informed decision – something seemingly ignored by the minister.
