Our Political Lobbying
Throughout the ten years of our Campaign, WASPI have always campaigned cross party. We understood early on that change would happen by political will and we have worked hard to generate relationships with MPs and to keep them informed of our campaign goals and progress.
We urge anyone who believes in the aims of the campaign to lobby their MP. MPs pay attention to letters and visits from their constituents. Below is a link to a helpful guide on lobbying.
What we do
- Attend party conferences
- Run MPs drop-in information sessions in Westminster
- Have face to face and zoom meetings with MPs and Select Committee Members
- Encourage local groups to meet their own MPs
- Provide press releases, campaign information and briefing documents to MPs
- Give evidence to Parliamentary Select Committees (link to section)
- Work with the All Party Parliamentary Group on Women’s State Pensions
- Provide MPs with oral and written questions
- Support MPs in their debates and local constituency information sessions
- Regularly provide speakers for Unions and other stakeholders
